For Coaches
Rizzler for Rec League Coaches
You signed up because your kid needed a coach and nobody else raised their hand. Now you've got 13 kids with wildly different skill levels, parents who all think their kid should pitch, and a rulebook you haven't read yet. Welcome to rec ball.
Rizzler's Free plan gives you everything you need to survive — and actually enjoy — your first season: game planning, lineup building, pitch counting, scoring, playing time tracking, and rule compliance checking. It's free forever, and you'll figure it out in 15 minutes.

What Rec Coaches Actually Need
You don't need sabermetrics. You don't need AI optimization. You need to answer four questions before every game:
-
Who's batting where? Build a batting order that's fair and makes sense. Rotate it across games so the same kid doesn't bat last every Saturday.
-
Who's playing where? Build a fielding rotation that gives every kid time at multiple positions. Track it so you can prove it's balanced.
-
Who can pitch? Check pitch count rest days from last game. Make sure your pitcher is eligible. Track their count during the game so you don't exceed the limit.
-
Am I following the rules? Minimum play, pitch counts, rest days, catcher-to-pitcher — Rizzler checks all of them automatically.
That's it. Rizzler handles these four things on the Free plan. No subscription. No credit card.
Your First Game with Rizzler
Step 1: Sign up (free, 30 seconds). Step 2: Add your roster (names and positions, 3 minutes). Step 3: Build your game plan — drag players into the batting order, assign fielding positions by inning, set your pitcher. Rizzler checks the rules as you build.
Save it. Open the iOS app at the field. Your plan is on your phone. Count pitches during the game. Make changes when needed. After the game, your stats and playing time are saved.
Total time to learn: about 15 minutes. Total time per game plan after that: 5-10 minutes.

Frequently Asked Questions
I don't know the rules. Will Rizzler help?
That's literally why it exists. Set your league (Little League, USSSA, etc.) and Rizzler loads the correct rules. Plan your game, and the app warns you before any violation. You don't need to memorize the rulebook. More on rule compliance →
How do I handle continuous batting order with 13 kids?
Rizzler supports continuous batting order natively. Your entire roster bats through. The app handles the fielding substitutions automatically. More on building lineups →
Can my spouse help coach using Rizzler?
Yes. The Free plan supports 2 coaches per team. Invite them and they see the same game plan on their phone. They can help count pitches or score the game.
Is this better than just using a spreadsheet?
A spreadsheet doesn't check rules, doesn't count pitches, doesn't track playing time across a season, and isn't on your phone in the dugout. Rizzler does all of that for free.
Do I need to use the iOS app?
You don't need to — the web app works on any phone's browser. But the iOS app is optimized for game-day use: big tap targets, bright-light visibility, one-hand operation.
