Basketball Tryouts Run From Your Phone. No Clipboards. No Spreadsheets.
Rate ball handling, shooting, finishing, and defense at every basket, and see who fits each role. Rizzler runs the whole tryout, from registration and check-in through final roster offers, then converts your final roster straight into your season.

Six stages of tryout season. One app for all of them.
Every basketball tryout follows the same arc: get players in the door, evaluate them, study the numbers, make the calls, send the offers, and build the team. Rizzler handles each stage, and hands the finished roster to your season.
1. Get every player in the system before the first whistle.
Share the built-in registration link and let families sign players up themselves, or upload your existing player list and start from there. Either way, every athlete who steps into the gym is already in Rizzler with a check-in record and a number, so nobody gets evaluated on a napkin.

2. Score every basket from your phone, all night or all week.
Build basketball-specific templates for ball handling, shooting form and range, finishing at the rim, on-ball defense, rebounding and box-outs, passing and decision-making, athleticism, effort, and scrimmage play. Add role-specific criteria so guard candidates are judged on the handle and decisions while bigs are judged on rebounding and rim protection. Every evaluator scores players on sliders from their own phone and the scores sync in real time. Programs that run tryouts across several nights or a full week of sessions see scores keep accumulating on each player until the last shift.
3. Analyze the data instead of deciphering clipboards.
A 60-player tryout with four evaluators and nine criteria produces over 2,000 individual scores, and Rizzler totals them as they happen. Every evaluator's ratings are averaged and players rank automatically, so you can compare guards, wings, and bigs within each position group, not just overall. Generate clean reports showing each player's skill breakdown with one click, share them with assistant coaches or your program director, and every evaluation is stored season over season.

4. Make the calls: rosters, practice players, cuts.
Work the draft board with the rankings in front of you. Drag and drop players onto rosters, designate practice players, hold the close calls for a second look, and make cut decisions with evidence behind them instead of tryout-day memory.
Ready to run your best basketball tryout yet?
5. Send offers and declines, and know exactly who has answered.
Let Rizzler send the invitations and the tough-news notes, then track every response in one view: offered, accepted, declined, still deciding. Back-fill open spots from your hold list without chasing parents by text after a long night in the gym.

6. Tryout over? Your season is already set up.
This is where Rizzler is different: accepted players convert straight into your full team roster on the Rizzler Sports platform, the same system that runs your season. Schedule, event, and RSVP management, parent email and SMS updates, mid-season skill evaluations, parent progress reports, and goal-setting surveys that turn tryout scores into a development plan for every athlete. Other tryout tools end at the roster. Rizzler is just getting started there.
One roster, one set of evaluations, one parent report: the platform and the coach app work off the same data all season. Explore basketball practice plans, the free practice planner, and schedule and attendance.

Frequently asked questions
What plan includes basketball tryouts?
Team Tryouts is available in full on the Club plan with up to 300 tryout players per month; the Coach plan includes a taster of 15 tryout players per month. The full feature is built for school programs, AAU clubs, and recreational leagues rather than individual coaches.
How do players get into the tryout?
Two ways: share the built-in registration link and families sign up themselves, or upload your existing list of tryout players. Check-in on tryout day marks who actually showed.
Can we run tryouts over multiple nights?
Yes. Many programs run tryouts across several nights, a weekend, or even a full week of sessions. Scores accumulate on each player across every session, so the rankings reflect the whole tryout, not just the last scrimmage.
How many players can one tryout handle?
The Club plan supports up to 300 players. You can run one tryout event with multiple grade groups and assign evaluators to specific divisions and baskets, from skill stations to five-on-five play.
Do evaluators need accounts?
You invite your coaches as evaluators and assign them to stations. Each coach scores from their own phone, scores sync in real time, and ratings are averaged automatically. The Club plan includes unlimited coaches per team.
What happens after the tryout?
Accepted players convert into your full team roster on the Rizzler Sports platform. From there you run the season in the same place: schedules, events, and RSVPs, parent email and SMS updates, mid-season skill evaluations, parent progress reports, and goal-setting surveys that turn tryout scores into a development plan.
