Team Tryouts — Professional Tryout Management for Travel Clubs
Rizzler's tryout management feature gives travel clubs and select organizations a professional system for running tryouts — with custom scoring rubrics, multiple coaches evaluating simultaneously on their phones, player side-by-side comparisons, and clean data for roster decisions. Tryouts are the first thing prospective families see. This feature makes sure it's organized.
What Tryout Management Includes
Custom rubrics. Build scoring criteria that match your organization's evaluation philosophy. Most clubs assess hitting, fielding, throwing, speed, and baseball IQ — but you can add pitching mechanics, coachability, or any other criterion. Set the scale (1-5, 1-10, pass/fail) and define what each score means.
Multi-evaluator scoring. Multiple coaches score the same players from their phones. Scores sync in real time and are averaged automatically. When three coaches independently rate a player, the average is more reliable than any single opinion.
Station-based evaluation. Assign coaches to stations (hitting, fielding, running, etc.) and players rotate through. Each coach sees only the players at their station.
Player comparisons. After tryouts, compare players side by side across all evaluation criteria. Filter by age group, overall score, or specific skills. When two players are close, drill into their individual assessments.
Bias reduction. Independent blind scoring (evaluators don't see each other's scores during the tryout), standardized rubrics (everyone uses the same scale), and multi-evaluator averaging all reduce the impact of individual bias.
Measurables. Record exit velocity, pitch speed, pop time, and sprint times alongside rubric scores. Hard data supports subjective assessment.

There's no limit. Three evaluators per player is common — enough for reliable averaging without requiring too many coaches.
