How the volleyball practice planner works

Pick a practice length and age group. The module panel filters to drills that honestly fit that age, grouped by phase: arrival, warm-up, core, conditioning, and cooldown. Drag a module between segments to add it with its default duration, or drop it onto a segment to stack it. Every duration is editable and the summary bar tracks planned minutes against your target.

Free-text segments are always available, so a plan never dead-ends on a drill we do not have. Stations blocks split the team into 2-6 rotating groups. The free set covers ball-control boxes, progressive pepper, serve-receive waves, butterfly passing, max-touch hitting, the 6v6 wash drill, and the dig grind circuit, plus every universal module. The rest of the volleyball library shows in the panel and unlocks with a free account.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long should a volleyball practice be?

60-75 minutes for beginners and 10U-12U, 90 minutes for middle school and 13U-15U, and up to 2 hours for high school and club. Ball-touch density matters more than length: waves and circuits beat lines.

What should a 90-minute volleyball practice look like?

Ball-control boxes on arrival (10), progressive pepper (10), serve-receive waves (20), max-touch hitting (20), a 6v6 wash drill (20), and a stretch and reset cooldown (10). The default plan on this page is exactly that, ready to customize.

Is this practice plan builder really free?

Yes. Building a plan, printing it, and sharing it by link all work without an account. Your plan is saved in your browser. A free Rizzler account unlocks the full module library, cloud save, templates, and attaching plans to your team schedule.

Can I print the practice plan?

Yes. One click opens a clean one-page coach sheet: a time column, every segment with its modules and notes, and the equipment list. Print it or save it as a PDF from the print dialog.

How do I share a practice plan with my assistant coaches?

Click "Share link" and the whole plan is encoded into the URL. Text it to your assistants and they see the same plan, no account needed on either end.

What happens when I create an account?

You land in the Rizzler Practice Manager with every curated module unlocked, and the plan you built here comes with you. Practice Manager adds cloud save, clone, templates, staff visibility, and attaching plans to schedule events.
