FAQ
Rizzler Web App vs. iOS App: Do I Need Both?
You don't need both, but most coaches use both. The web app is best for pregame planning at home: building lineups, setting up tournament plans, and reviewing stats on a larger screen. The iOS app is best for game day: scoring, pitch counting, and lineup adjustments from the dugout. Both access the same account and data syncs automatically.
When to Use Each
| Task | Best On | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Building game plans and lineups | Web app (laptop) | Larger screen, easier drag-and-drop |
| Tournament and multi-game planning | Web app only | Complex grid view; not available on iOS |
| Reviewing stats and AI analysis | Web app | Easier to compare data side by side |
| In-game scoring | iOS app (phone) | Quick taps from the dugout |
| Scoring with pitch location | iOS app only (Pro and Club) | Not available on the web app |
| Pitch counting and charting | iOS app | One-handed operation between pitches |
| Checking lineup during a game | iOS app | Instant access in the dugout |
| Player evaluations and tryouts | Web app | Evaluation tools run on the web app |
| Setting up your roster | Either | Both work fine for initial setup |
What's Different Between Them?
Most features are shared between the two apps, but a few live on one platform only:
- iOS only: scoring with pitch location and bullpen charting (both on the Pro and Club plans)
- Web only: AI depth chart, multi-game and tournament planning, printable lineup cards, and the organization dashboard
Everything else, including rosters, game plans, stats, pitch counting, and availability, works in both places. Your account, roster, game plans, stats, and settings sync between both apps automatically. Build a lineup on your laptop Saturday morning. Pull it up on your phone Saturday afternoon in the dugout. The data is the same.
Can I Use Just One?
Yes. If you only have an iPhone, the iOS app covers day-to-day coaching, though web-only planning tools like tournament planning and printable lineup cards need a browser. If you don't have an iPhone, the web app works on any device with a browser, including Android phones, tablets, and laptops.
The most common setup: web app at home for planning, iOS app at the field for execution.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the iOS app free?
Yes. Download from the App Store for free. Your Rizzler plan (Free, Pro, or Club) determines which features are available. The app itself costs nothing.
Does Rizzler work on Android?
Rizzler doesn't have a native Android app. Android users can use the mobile-optimized web app through any mobile browser. Learn more about Android support.
Do I need an internet connection to use the apps?
The web app requires an internet connection. For the iOS app's current requirements, check the App Store listing.
Is my data the same on both apps?
Yes. One account, one data set. Changes on the web app appear on the iOS app and vice versa.
Plan on the web, coach from your phone, and let the data sync itself.
