The Volleyball Stat Sheet: A Printable Template One Person Can Actually Keep

A volleyball stat sheet is a one-page chart that lets a single scorer track what actually decides youth matches: each player's passing, serving, and attacking, plus team points by rotation. Most printable stat sheets fail because they are shrunken college box scores, forty columns nobody can keep from a folding chair. The template below is built the other way: five tally families, one row per player, big cells. The Per-Player Chart

One row per player, tally as you go, total at set breaks. This is the whole front page:

Three column notes. Serve receive is written as the actual grades, not tallies, because the sequence tells you more than the average (a passer who starts 3,3 and ends 1,1 is tiring or being targeted). Attempts include every swing, tip, and intentional down-ball, so attempts always equal kills plus errors plus zero attacks; that identity is your arithmetic check at the set break, and the three columns feed the hitting percentage calculator directly. Digs count playable saves only.

The Points-by-Rotation Row

The most underused chart in youth volleyball fits in one row. Write your six rotations across the page (by the setter's zone, matching your rotation sheet), and tally each rally's result under the rotation you were in when it was played:

After two or three matches the leak announces itself: a rotation losing points two-to-one has a serve receive shape problem, a matchup problem, or a lineup-order problem. How to Keep This Sheet Alone, From the Bench

The sheet is designed around three rules learned from every parent who has ever been handed a clipboard. Tally only between rallies; nothing on this sheet needs to be recorded while the ball is live, and a scorer who watches the rally records it correctly afterward. Keep priorities in order; if the pace runs away from you, keep serve receive and serving first, attacking second, digs only when comfortable, because that priority order matches what the numbers are worth at the youth level. Total at set breaks, not at the end; per-set totals are where patterns live (a passer who fades in set three, a rotation that leaks only after halftime substitutions).

Pair it with the two other bench documents: the lineup sheet that goes to the officials, and the rotation sheet on your clipboard that tells you which rotation number to tally under. The three sheets agree because they derive from the same lineup.
